Our journey began with Teams Squared; a company initially focused on team augmentation across various industries. However, as we worked closely with law firms in the US, UK and Australia, we discovered a significant gap in the legal sector: many law firms struggled to access high-quality, cost-effective talent. 

At the same time, lawyers in emerging markets—particularly from South Africa, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America—were highly skilled and eager to contribute, but were often overlooked due to geographical barriers.

This led us to a powerful realization: law firms needed a way to tap into this global talent pool without facing the soaring costs of traditional hiring methods.

But that wasn't the only challenge.

We also saw a disconnect between technology and the legal world.

Some law firms were experimenting with legal AI tools, but they were often frustrated by their lack of customization for legal workflows. Meanwhile, other firms were hesitant to embrace technology at all, fearing complexity and disruption to their existing processes.

This gap in both talent and technology sparked the birth of Clara.

With Clara, our goal was clear: create a solution that could bridge the gap.

We envisioned Clara as an accessible, AI-driven platform designed to serve all law firms—whether they were highly tech-savvy or more traditional in their approach. By making the platform intuitive and adaptable, we ensured that every law professional and firm, regardless of their technological expertise, could easily leverage the power of technology to enhance operations and streamline workflows, regardless of their starting point.
